Project Scope
Updating a global cost-effectiveness model into a Saudi HTA-compliant model
KSA
Challenge
The client’s existing global model required local cost inputs and updates to reflect the patient journey in Saudi Arabia. In addition, there was a lack of local data on healthcare resource utilization for moderate-to-severe cases in atopic dermatitis. Without local inputs, the model risked rejection for failing to reflect the local landscape, costs & treatment dynamics
Solution
We undertook a comprehensive assessment of the global model to identify localization needs and demonstrate the therapy's value to Saudi authorities, this process involved:
- Mapping the local Atopic Dermatitis patient journey to pinpoint key cost drivers at each stage of care within the public sector
- We undertook a literature review to identify local data clinical and cost data where available
- We executed targeted primary research to generate the missing data points and integrated the inputs to build a robust, fully localized model for KSA requirements
Results
- Localised the global cost-effectiveness model with updated parameters to reflect the Saudi patient journey and Saudi cost data
- The final output demonstrated clear cost-effectiveness against competitors in both primary and secondary indications, giving the client a strong, evidence-led argument
