Localising a health economic model for a respiratory diagnostic test manufacturer

Project scope

Our client is looking to demonstrate the cost-benefit of their respiratory test vs. other competitors and is leveraging their existing UK cost-effectiveness model with a Saudi data set to lay a compelling argument

Challenge

Our client is working in a crowded landscape with a variety of respiratory tests available across hospitals in Saudi Arabia. They are looking to compete through cost argumentations

Solution

Undertook an assessment of the cost-effectiveness model and available data to localise the data set and have demonstrable cost-benefits of our clients test to Saudi authorities

  • Understood the patient journey for patients with respiratory illnesses
  • Understood the cost drivers at each step of the patient journey
  • Undertook a literature review and primary research to gather local data to input into the model and localised the cost-effectiveness model

Results

  • Localised the UK cost-effectiveness model with different parameters to reflect a Saudi patient journey and Saudi cost data
  • Demonstrated cost-effectiveness vs. competitors both within primary and secondary infections
  • Succeeded in ensuring the client’s product in subsequent NUPCO tenders
